Youth Volleyball wraps up with its final match this Saturday at 10am VS Irrigon! We have had a very successful and fun season. These young athletes have worked hard to improve their skills and learn about being on a team!
They will be playing at the high school gym! Come show your support!
Parents, recently our staff as well as other districts and Gilliam County Sheriff's department were involved in a day long training for school safety. The program is a nationally recognized school safety training program called “I love you guys''. The presenters were former law enforcement officials that have been involved with this program for several years. The attached link is connected to their website and explains more about the training. https://iloveuguys.org/ I see it is important to let parents know that these drills will take place in the near future and answer any questions that you may have. We have scheduled an evening meeting for parents to attend a presentation by the district and a representative from the Gilliam County Sheriff’s Department the evening of November 8th, 6:00 p.m., in the elementary cafeteria. The National Honor Society is holding a wreath fundraiser to help support the community projects they have chosen this year. Members will be going door to door, or you can call the school to order 541-454-2727. Wreaths will be delivered the 1st week of December!

Day 4 It’s the last day of Red Ribbon Week and we want to thank you for your participation in supporting healthy, drug free lifestyles. We hope you’ve really thought about the meaning of “living naturally high” and how making healthy choices will help you achieve your goals in life. We’re halfway through Red Ribbon Week, and besides participating in activities at school, we are asking all students to take the Red Ribbon message home and share it with their families and friends. Day 1
Today is the first day of Red Ribbon Week. This year’s theme is Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug Free. It’s a call to action to support healthy choices and serves as a reminder that drugs hinder brain development. The next 4 days were going to focus on making positive and healthy choices and living naturally high. A natural high can come from any activity that makes you feel good — and doesn’t involve drugs. Doing things you enjoy, like riding your skateboard or dabbling in photography, releases natural feel-good chemicals in your brain like dopamine, which regulates movement, emotion, motivation, and happiness. In today’s Natural High’s video, meet Tony Azevedo, who's natural high is water polo. He's a five time Olympian, former captain of the U.S. National Men’s Water Polo team, and fourth on the list of ‘most goals ever’. And behind his amazing record is an impressive story of resilience and perseverance. He talks about how his setbacks fueled his passions for doing something great with his life. Congratulations to our Arlington/Ione Volleyball Team for taking 1st in the Big Sky District Championship. On Wednesday, Oct. 25, @ 6 pm we will host the first round of the OSAA State playoffs against Union at Ione HS. OSAA requires a gate fee for all playoff games: $10 for adults and $6 for students (K-12).
